This was a tough day for the Roo's. Coming off a tough weekend in San Antonio, and having the required day off on Monday, we only had two days to prepare for a rejuvenated UD team. Rejuvenated is something we were not on the day.
The boys came out completely flat and didn't do the simple things that are necessary to win. These are things that have been a point for us the past few weeks, and today we did not take care of them. The day didn't start well, and it never got better.
I give Dallas full credit as they came out strong from the opening whistle, and played with a persistence to take it do us...they did. The score would end at 4-0 and, to be honest, was well deserved buy Dallas based on our play.
These details were a major focus following the game and into the day on Friday. Being fall break we didn't have class so the boys ran a coach less training session at 10:00am that morning, followed be a couple of team meetings. We need to get things sorted out. I think we got things on track.
As a young team, part of building a team is understanding the importance of paying attention to the details...and maintaining those details throughout the game, and our life. We will slowly figure that out.
Up next...LeTourneau in Longview on Saturday. A solid team that has some good wins over Centre and Mary Hardin Baylor.
