With so many new players on the team, we wanted to see how they would do in some different positions and how different players would play with each other, so we invited DFW Tornadoes to come up for a friendly game.
In the first half, we saw good work ethic and some good play from the team. Kyle Fitzpatrick (Flower Mound, TX) was solid in the back and forwards Jason "Jamaica" Campbell (Kingston, Jamaica) and Shedrick Davis (Rockwall, TX) created some good chances for us. We also got good play from Matt Rogers (Sherman, TX) and Josh Pollock (San Antonio, TX). Both teams created some chances to score, but none ended up in the back of the net. We would go into halftime tied 0-0.
The second half brought more of the same with both teams unable to put a goal away. However, with less than 20 minutes to play, DFW Tornadoes would take the lead. The boys fought hard to try and get the goal back and were rewarded for their effort. We were awarded a set piece with less than three minutes to go. After a scrum in the box, Shedrick Davis (Rockwall, TX) would win the ball and put it away. The game would in 1-1.
We were happy with how the team played fought back after we went down. The guys played well and worked hard. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the team. GO ROOS!
