Two ’Roos Earn All-SCAC Soccer Honors

ATLANTA, Ga. – Two members of the Austin College men’s soccer team have been named All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performers for the 2009 season, the league office has announced.

Senior Alex Dawson and sophomore Luis Castillo were each named 2nd Team All-SCAC in a vote by the conference coaches. Dawson, a senior midfielder from Spring, scored four goals including two game winners and had a team-best eight assists and 16 total points during the year. Castillo, a sophomore from Kingwood and last year’s SCAC Newcomer of the Year, scored five goals and added five assists for a total of 15 points, second best on the team behind Dawson.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
